About Us

Surrey Youth Ballet logo Welcome to the Surrey Youth Ballet.
By popular demand The Surrey Youth Ballet was founded in 2004 by Sonya Nichols, (Director), who won the coveted Ursula Moreton Choreographic Award whilst at The Royal Ballet’s Upper School. All students take part in a 4-day summer workshop of tuition involving a variety of dance styles as well as rehearsals. They then rehearse for several Sundays (approx 7), which lead to full staged and costumed performances. The first half normally has a theme and involves mixed genres including; ballet, modern, contemporary and/or jazz styles. The second half is the main ballet.

The Surrey Youth Ballet (SYB) is advantaged in having a qualified faculty who have been trained at a variety of recognised establishments including: The Royal Ballet School and The Royal Academy of Dance, Central Ballet, English National Ballet and have danced in various dance companies and on the West-End Stages. We are looking for talented boy and girl dancers aged 7 -18 years to join us.

If you are interested in joining us, please complete and send an Application Form by 4th May 2019.
